Besides lovely Ventanas beach, you will be less than 10 minutes from the wonderful village of Ojochal. This unique blend of people and cultures will make your experience truly enjoyable. Comprised of expatriates from the USA, Canada and western Europe as well as the local folks ("ticos"), this village is a remarkable example of people from many cultures all working side by side to help one another in an environment that demands self reliance and cooperation among friends and neighbors. For more information on Dominical, check out www.dominical.biz. In between Ojochal and Dominical is the rapidly growing village of Uvita. As is the case with Ojochal and Dominical, Uvita offers many things for the visitor. In addition to the newest (and best) grocery store in the area ("La Corona"), Uvita also has a wonerful internet cafe, the "Rainforest Cafe" to address all your internet needs. It is an air conditioned coffee shop with extremely inexpensive high speed internet connections. Although there are computers there, most visitors pack in their own laptop and power cord for a session of internet in the jungle. In between these three villages are a number of beaches along the coastal highway. You can see pictures of these beaches on our beaches page. Although we are partial to Playa Ventanas, in truth each is spectacular in its own right. Given the excellent conditon of the coastal highway (the "Costanera Sur"), all are within a 20 to 30 minute drive from the house. Most 10-15 minutes. |
